Liverpool have struck an agreement with Red Bull Salzburg to sell exciting talent Bobby Clark, with many key clauses included in the deal.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Bobby Clark is set for a transfer to Red Bull Salzburg in the coming days after Liverpool agreed to a sale. The Austrian side will pay £10 million for the 19-year-old wunderkind, with the Merseysiders inserting key clauses that could benefit them in the future.

Liverpool’s academy has produced some notable talents, with Bobby Clark one of their latest exports. The young midfielder featured in a decent number of games last season under Jurgen Klopp and was also part of their League Cup success.
Clark has shown plenty of promise, which allowed Klopp to hand him key minutes last season. He started in the Premier League against Nottingham Forest, played one full game in their FA Cup run-in, and came on as a substitute against Chelsea in the League Cup Final.
Overall, Liverpool considered him an immense talent and have now decided to sell him to Red Bull Salzburg. The Austrian side, managed by former Liverpool assistant manager Pep Lijnders, had set sights on the 19-year-old wonderkid, although the initial idea might have been for a loan deal.
Liverpool were open to a loan, but now they have managed to reach an agreement with Salzburg to sell Clark on a permanent deal. For the young midfielder, finding a familiar face in Lijnders would be a welcome boost to further his career, and he will hope to become a regular under the former Klopp assistant as he builds towards a promising future.

Liverpool will receive £10 million for the sale of Clark, although they have inserted key clauses that would vastly benefit them in the future. For starters, they have a 17.5% sell-on clause, which might have been higher on the initial asking but was further negotiated by Salzburg to bring it down to that number. Then, they have the right of first refusal, meaning the Merseysiders will be asked first before Salzburg make a decision to sell him.
These clauses have become a trend in recent times as clubs look to maximise their financial potential with their young talents. Liverpool have done numerous deals in the past with key clauses, as recently, the sale of Dominic Solanke will land them a windfall due to a sell-on clause inserted during his sale to Bournemouth.
