PSG appear like the favourites to land Jadon Sancho, which could see Manchester United sell the winger while incurring a loss.
According to Football Insider, PSG are likely to land Jadon Sancho in this winger, with Manchester United set to take a loss on the attacker. The Red Devils might be ready to sell him after a difficult time at Old Trafford, with the money likely to help Erik ten Hag to strengthen the attack.
PSG to land Jadon Sancho?
Jadon Sancho has returned to Manchester United following a successful six-month loan spell at Borussia Dortmund and actually featured on the pitch during pre-season. Erik ten Hag insisted the water is under the bridge regarding their public feud at the beginning of last season.
While Sancho has looked somewhat sharp, there are considerable doubts about his immediate future at the club. Even before the pair resolved their differences, Sancho was expected to leave Manchester United, and that might remain the case heading into the final phase of the window, with the club set to discuss his future.
There was considerable interest, although Juventus are unlikely to move, and PSG was keen to sign him. The Parisians have a vacancy following the exit of Kylian Mbappe and might have had sights on Marcus Rashford, but are now focused on the Manchester United star, who cost them £70 million.
Sancho might be keen to join PSG if the conditions are right, as they are probably the only club willing to come close to whatever Manchester United might ask. The price point could also have been the reason for Juventus and Borussia Dortmund to back away, while PSG could also pay him closer to his current wages at Old Trafford.
Manchester United set to take a loss on Sancho
Manchester United paid over £70 million to sign Sancho from Borussia Dortmund a few years ago. But they are unlikely to get anywhere close to that figure when they sell him. Hence, should they offload him, it would be for a considerably lesser price than £70 million, although this sale would be seen as a re-investment opportunity after taking the loss.
Ten Hag still needs a new attacker in his squad, and with cash flow somewhat restricted in this window, Manchester United must sell before they can reinvest. Apart from Sancho, expensive winger, Antony could also leave for a respectable offer, and the manager could then use the cash to bring in a new forward or winger to bolster his attacking ranks.
