Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah has been linked with a move away from the North London club this summer, with Marseille interested in him.
Ligue 1 giants Marseille are keen on signing Eddie Nketiah, but Arsenal have now hit a roadblock in the talks to sell the 25-year-old homegrown striker in the summer transfer window.
According to French football expert Jonathan Johnson on Caught Offside, the two clubs are currently apart in valuation when it comes to the striker and the deal could be complicated. It remains to be seen whether the Ligue 1 outfit are willing to accept Arsenal’s demands for the player.
Nketiah has already agreed personal terms with the club. The Englishman will be hoping to secure a permanent exit away from the club this summer. He will look to get his career back on track with regular football.
The talented striker has struggled to hold down a regular starting spot at the North London club, and a move away from Arsenal would be ideal for him. He needs to play regularly at this stage of his career. Marseille will be able to provide him with that opportunity next season.
Meanwhile, Arsenal should look to bring in a quality striker as well. Gabriel Jesus scored just four goals in the league last season, and Arsenal need an improvement on him if they are serious about winning the league title. Manchester City have a wealth of options at their disposal, and Arsenal need more quality in the side as well.
Nektiah needs to play regularly
Regular football in Ligue 1 could prove to be hugely beneficial to Nketiah’s development, and he could fulfil his potential with Marseille in the coming seasons. He has shown his quality in the Premier League during his cameos with Arsenal, and there is no doubt that he is good enough to start at a high level.
The English striker will hope that the two clubs can finalise an agreement quickly so that he can sort out his permanent future and focus on his football once again. Meanwhile, Arsenal will look to improve their squad before the transfer window closes.
