Fulham are eager to complete a move for Andre Trindade and hope to fly the midfielder into the UK this week for a medical.
According to HITC, Fulham are advancing in their efforts to bring Andre Trindade. They hope to conclude a medical this week. The Cottagers are expected to agree a deal with Brazilian side Fluminense for the midfielder, as they are keen on flying him to the UK and completing the transfer.
Andre Trindade set to Fulham medical
Marco Silva has plenty of names to consider ahead of the next period to replace outgoing midfielder Joao Palhinha. The Portuguese international has joined Bayern Munich and leaves a significant gap in Fulham’s midfield, which needs an apt replacement in the position.
Fulham are closing in on Andre Trindade’s signature, as Silva might view the 23-year-old Brazilian international as the ideal replacement for Palhinha. The Cottagers were heavily linked with the midfielder back in January and may have come close to signing him, as were Liverpool, although neither move materialised.
This time around, the Brazilian club might be open to selling the midfielder, who could fulfil his dream of playing in Europe. He does harbour hopes to feature for a Premier League side, although he previously had ambitions to play for a much bigger side. Either way, the move to Fulham might be very close as things stand, with the club eager to fly the 23-year-old Brazilian international into the UK for his medical.
That should indicate the advanced nature of negotiations between Fulham and Fluminense about this transfer of Andre. The Brazilian side demanded at least £40 million back in January, and now, how much the Cottagers are willing to pay remains under wraps.
Fulham’s other midfield target
Some might see signing a Brazilian with no experience outside of Brazil as a visible risk, meaning Fulham could be open to adding another midfielder. Andre remains a good option, but Silva is also looking at Manchester City outcast Kalvin Phillips.
There are links to Scott McTominay, who could be on the move despite claims that Manchester United are not in a particular hurry to sell the Scotsman right now. Either way, Silva will likely eye another midfielder alongside Andre as he pushes to strengthen a key area weakened by the departure of a formidable player like Palhinha.
