Brahim Diaz reportedly has no intentions of leaving Real Madrid amidst interest in his services from Tottenham Hotspur.
According to a report from Foot Mercato, Tottenham Hotspur are looking to reinforce their attack ahead of next season. The North London club are interested in the services of Real Madrid star Brahim Diaz. They did make an approach for the Moroccan international, who does not want to part ways with Los Blancos.
After an impressive loan spell at AC Milan, Real Madrid decided to incorporate him into their first team last season. Diaz was keen on playing for the team in white and he surely did not disappoint. The 24-year-old attacking midfielder was not really an important figure in the team at the start of the season. But he managed to work his way into Carlo Ancelotti’s plans.
Diaz was involved in 44 matches and ended up contributing towards 21 goals, he found the back of the net on 12 occasions and bagged nine assists in just over 2,000 minutes of first-team action. The player was integral to the success they had last time out.
With Kylian Mbappe joining the team in white, Diaz’s game time could be further affected next season. As a result, clubs are looking to prise him away from the Spanish giants. Tottenham are one of the clubs keen on having him in their squad.
Tottenham fail with an approach for Diaz
Ange Postecoglou wants to add more firepower to his attack ahead of next season. The Australian boss wants more options at his disposal. He wants to bring in a player who can add more goals and creativity, and the Real Madrid attacking midfielder could be an ideal fit for them.
He can not only compete with James Maddison for a place in the starting XI. But the 24-year-old is capable enough to feature on the flanks as well as a number nine if needed. While Tottenham have approached Diaz regarding a potential switch to the Premier League, the player is not keen on leaving Real Madrid.
Despite the increase in competition for next season, the Moroccan international wants to continue fighting for his place in the team next season. The player is happy in the Spanish capital and Los Blancos have turned down Spurs’ approach for him. Diaz is not for sale and only an irrefutable offer can prise him away from Madrid.
