Crystal Palace are interested in acquiring the services of Arsenal academy graduate Emile Smith Rowe this summer.
According to a report from The Sun, Crystal Palace are looking for ways to reinforce their squad ahead of next season and they are interested in the services of Emile Smith Rowe. The English attacking midfielder has gone down the pecking order at Arsenal and they are ready to sanction his departure.
Smith Rowe has come up the ranks at the North London club. He was promoted to their first team in the summer of 2020. The 23-year-old was quite impressive for them in the initial seasons but things haven’t been that great for him over the past 24 months.
He has struggled with injuries and has only had limited game time in the last two campaigns. While he was involved in 19 matches during the 2023/24 season, Smith Rowe was on the pitch for less than 500 minutes. There are still two years left on the attacking midfielder’s contract at Arsenal but the Gunners are ready to cash in on him.
Crystal Palace looking to sign Smith Rowe
They are willing to part ways with their academy graduate for a cut-price fee of £25 million and Crystal Palace are interested in bringing him to Selhurst Park. The Eagles want to ensure they have enough quality in the final third of the pitch as Oliver Glasner prepares for his first full season in charge of the club after an impressive start.
With Michael Olise’s future at the club uncertain, they are looking at Smith Rowe as a potential replacement. Bayern Munich are pushing hard for the French winger’s signature and there is interest from other clubs from across Europe as well.
If the 22-year-old leaves Selhurst Park this summer, Palace could make a move for the Arsenal graduate. The Eagles might be keen on signing him but the player is not really looking to leave his childhood club. He wants to continue at the North London club despite going down the pecking order under Mikel Arteta. Smith Rowe is willing to fight for a place in the team as he looks to revive himself.
