Liverpool are reportedly keen on signing 23-year-old Newcastle United winger Anthony Gordon this summer.
According to a report from Graeme Bailey on HITC, Liverpool have approached Newcastle United for highly-rated winger Anthony Gordon.
It will be interesting to see if the Magpies are willing to sanction his departure. Gordon cost to the Tyneside club £45 million, and they are unlikely to let him leave for cheap, if at all, amid his links with clubs like Liverpool.
The former Everton winger has done reasonably well since his move to Newcastle, and he could prove to be a useful acquisition for Liverpool as well. The Reds are lacking in depth in the wide areas, with Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah the only natural wingers at the club. Liverpool must look to add more quality and depth in that department.

Signing Gordon for a reasonable price this summer could prove to be a wise decision. Newcastle are going through financial limitations, and they will have to comply with the financial regulations. They might need to sell some players to balance the books, and getting rid of Gordon will help them bring in their own signings.
It will be interesting to see if Liverpool can take advantage of the situation and get the deal done. Although there is no doubt that Gordon is a quality player with a bright future, his allegiance with Everton might not go down well with the Liverpool fans. He could develop into a key player for Liverpool if they can get the deal done. The opportunity to join Liverpool will be quite attractive for him as well, and he will get to compete for major trophies with them in the coming seasons. But a deal will unlikely materialise.
