AC Milan set to open talks with Tottenham for Emerson Royal, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg

AC Milan are reportedly preparing to raid Tottenham Hotspur for out-of-favour duo Emerson Royal and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

According to Corriere dello Sport via Sport Witness, AC Milan are keen on reinforcing their squad this summer in an attempt to provide Paulo Fonseca with everything needed to succeed at the club. The Serie A giants are expected to soon begin negotiations with Tottenham Hotspur, and they could end up signing Emerson Royal and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

Emerson Royal joined Spurs back in 2021 from Barcelona. While he was an important part of their first team in the initial season, he has gone down the pecking order under Ange Postecoglou. The Brazilian international was involved in limited games last season, that too because of injuries at the club.

While his contract runs until the summer of 2026, Spurs are ready to cash in on him. Emerson surely has the talent in him, but Tottenham feel he is not the right fit for the Australian manager’s system. As a result, they are looking to sell him and replace him with a younger full-back who can grow under Postecoglou.

AC Milan to sign Emerson Royal & Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg?

AC Milan are looking to sign Emerson from Tottenham. The Serie A giants want to add more quality to the right-back position, and they feel the former Barcelona star could be an ideal fit for them.

The Italian giants are all set to enter into negotiations with Spurs for their 25-year-old defender. They already have an agreement in place with his agents regarding personal terms and will now look to strike a deal with Tottenham who value him at around €20 million.

During discussions with the North London club about Emerson, Hojbjerg’s name might also come up in the negotiations as per the report. One of the priorities for the Rossoneri is to bring in a new defensive midfielder and they are looking at quite a few names.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is one of the names on their wishlist. The player wants to leave Tottenham after falling down the pecking order at the club. The Danish international is looking for a club where he can play Champions League football, something that Milan can surely offer him. While Milan are keen on signing the Tottenham duo, they won’t make a move until they’ve bolstered their attack first.
