Real Madrid are not willing to fork out €60 million to acquire the services of Manchester United target Leny Yoro.
According to a report from Mundo Deportivo, Real Madrid are keen on acquiring Leny Yoro’s services. But they are not ready to meet the demands of LOSC Lille. Los Blancos are not willing to enter a transfer battle with Manchester United, who are also keen on signing the teenage defensive sensation.
Yoro has come up the ranks at the French club and has been a part of the first-team setup since the summer of 2022. He has gone from strength to strength over the years, establishing himself as one of the best young defenders in the world.
Real Madrid keen on defensive reinforcement
The French youth international has put himself on the wishlist of multiple top clubs on the back of his impressive rise. Real Madrid are one of the clubs that have been following the 18-year-old for a while now.
The team in white are in desperate need to reinforce their defence. While they did have a lot of success in the recently-concluded season, they struggled at the back because of injuries. Eder Militao and David Alaba were out for the majority of the season. With Nacho Fernandez’s departure likely, they need to add more quality and depth at the back.
Yoro is a top target for Los Bancos and with his contract running out in 2025, LOSC Lille have put him up for sale. But, the French club have set a high asking price of €60 million for the teenager. They are aware of the amount of interest in him and are looking to raise significant funds.
Real Madrid won’t meet Lille’s demands
Real Madrid do want to add the young sensation to their squad as they see him as the new Varane. But, they do not intend on paying €60 million for a player, who will be a free agent in 12 months. They have no intentions of entering into a bidding war and are willing to play the waiting game. With Yoro interested in joining the Spanish giants, they are in no rush.
Meanwhile, Manchester United are also interested in the French sensation. The Red Devils are also looking to add depth to the backline, with Raphael Varane leaving and a few more departures likely to follow. They are pushing hard to sign Yoro, and with Real Madrid taking a back seat, they can jump ahead. But, it will be interesting to see if they are ready to meet Lille’s demands.
