Mason Greenwood may have reached an agreement with Juventus to join them should they manage to convince Manchester United of a deal.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Juventus are the front-runners to sign Mason Greenwood, with the attacker agreeing to join the Turin side in the summer. While there is no official consensus on a deal with Manchester United, the player may prefer a switch to the Bianconeri over other suitors.
Mason Greenwood wants Juventus move?
Juventus are approaching the summer window with a hint of aggressiveness as they have already made waves in the market. The appointment of Thiago Motta as Massimiliano Allegri’s replacement was a statement in itself, and now they are close to sealing an agreement with Aston Villa for midfielder Douglas Luiz.
As part of the deal, they are also offloading two of the players they do not want any more in, Weston McKennie and Samuel Iling-Junior. The Serie A giants are open to selling more stars, like Premier League-linked Federico Chiesa and highly rated attacker Matias Soule, and a replacement for either one of those has already been selected.
Juventus are keen on Mason Greenwood, who may have to make a big decision about his future with Manchester United. The Premier League giants are reportedly demanding €50 million for him, although Juventus are allegedly prepared to make a €30 million offer with the addition of bonuses to tempt the Red Devils into a chase.
Manchester United had briefly thought about bringing Greenwood back into the fold after his 16 goals and assists during the loan spell with Getafe had made them ponder. However, any move to get him back could result in a fan backlash and a PR nightmare for the club.
Greenwood wants Juventus switch
Greenwood’s performances at Getafe during the loan season have attracted massive interest within the Spanish side as well as those outside. For instance, Jose Mourinho would like him at Fenerbahce, although the forward reportedly favours a move to Juventus and may have agreed in the background to join them.
The Bianconeri would allow him to compete at the highest level and even feature in the Champions League next season. Now, all that remains is an agreement between Juventus and Manchester United about the transfer, as once that is done, then the €50 million-rated prospect will likely make a landing in Turin.
