Tottenham, West Ham United vying for Matt O’Riley

Tottenham and West Ham United are reportedly keen on signing Matt O’Riley from Celtic in the summer transfer window.

According to Give Me Sport, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United are keen on Matt O’Riley. The Danish international feels he is ready to embark on an adventure in the Premier League. But he will not agitate for a move away from Celtic in the summer transfer window.

The 23-year-old has been a key player for Celtic this season, and he has contributed to 33 goals in all competitions, finding the back of the net 16 times while providing 17 assists.

The midfielder is reportedly open to listening to offers this summer, and it will be interesting to see if Tottenham and West Ham can convince him. Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has strong connections at the Scottish club, and he could help facilitate a move for the talented young midfielder.

Although Tottenham have James Maddison operating in that role, they could use more quality and depth in the area. The 23-year-old would be a solid long-term acquisition for them. Similarly, West Ham United have Lucas Paqueta operating in a similar role as well.

However, the Brazilian has been linked with a summer move away from the club. Manchester City are reportedly keen on signing him. West Ham will have to find the quality replacement for the South American, and the Celtic midfielder would be the ideal acquisition, especially considering his £14,000-a-week wages.

Matt O’Riley could be tempted to join a Premier League club

A move to Tottenham or West Ham would be a major step up in his career, and O’Riley will look to prove himself at the highest level. The Danish international has the physical and technical attributes to do well in the Premier League, and it remains to be seen whether he can secure a move to England this summer.

The midfielder is unlikely to be a cheap acquisition, and Celtic could demand a premium for their prized asset, having been reluctant to sell him in the winter transfer window. It will be interesting to see whether Tottenham and West Ham are ready to break the bank for him.

Tottenham have missed out on Champions League qualification they season, and they need to improve their squad during the summer transfer window. Similarly, West Ham will be hoping to push for European qualification next season, and they need more quality at their disposal. The 23-year-old would be a solid long-term investment for both clubs.
