Liverpool are ready to meet Atalanta’s demands as they look to acquire the services of Manchester United target Teun Koopmeiners.
According to a report from Tuttosport, Liverpool are looking to reinforce their attack ahead of next season and they have their eyes set on Teun Koopmeiners. The Reds have entered the race for the signature and are willing to fork out a significant fee to sign him from Atalanta.
Koopmeiners came up the ranks at AZ Alkmaar and made it to their first team in the summer of 2017. After four impressive seasons with the Dutch club, he made the move to Atalanta. Since joining the Italian club, the attacking midfielder has gone from strength to strength.
He has established himself as a mainstay at the Italian club and has been a consistent performer for them. In the ongoing campaign, the 26-year-old Dutch international has been involved in 47 matches and he has contributed towards 22 goals (15 goals, 7 assists).
While the majority of his appearances have come as an attacking midfielder, Koopmeiners has also featured as a central midfielder, a defensive midfielder and a right winger during the course of the season. His impressive performances have put him on the radar of multiple top clubs.
Manchester United are one of the clubs that have been monitoring the Dutch international for months now. The Red Devils are expected to make numerous changes to their squad in the summer and Koopmeiners is one of their target.
Liverpool ready to pay €60-70 million for Koopmeiners
While the Manchester-based club have been linked with him for some time now, Liverpool have entered the race and they are ready to steal a march. The arrival of Slot might be one of the major reasons why Liverpool are looking to acquire his services. They are ready to meet the demands of Atalanta who are looking for a fee of around €60-70 million.
Koopmeiners has worked under Slot and he won’t take long to adjust to his demands. While he still has over three years left on his deal with the Italian outfit, the Dutch international now wants to move to a bigger club and he would surely love the idea of reuniting his former boss at Anfield.
