Tottenham ready to cash in on Sergio Reguilon this summer

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly looking to get rid of 27-year-old Spanish wide man Sergio Reguilon at the end of the season.

Sergio Reguilon is currently on loan at Brentford, and he has done reasonably well for the Bees. However, the Spaniard does not have a future at Tottenham, and he will need to leave the club in order to play regularly.

As per Football Insider, the 27-year-old wide man is unwanted at the North London club, and he is not a part of their plans going forward. It would be ideal for all parties to move on.

Reguilon needs to play regularly at this stage of his career, and it will be interesting to see where he ends up. The Spanish full-back arrived at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in a deal worth £27 million. But he has not been able to establish himself as a key player for them over the years. He has been loaned out to multiple clubs, and it remains to be seen where he ends up.

The Spaniard is still only 27, and he will have plenty of time to get his career back on track with regular football elsewhere. There is no doubt that he could be a quality left back in the right team. Tottenham already have players like Destiny Udogie, Ben Davies, and Ryan Sessegnon at their disposal. They will not be able to accommodate any other left backs in the near future.

Tottenham need to raise funds for new signings

They will look to get rid of the Spanish defender and recoup some money from his departure. Tottenham need to improve their squad during the summer transfer window, and the proceeds from his departure will certainly boost their transfer budget.

It is unlikely that Tottenham will be able to recoup the £27 million they paid for him, and they will have to accept a loss on the player. Clubs interested in signing the Spanish defender will be fully aware of the fact that he is unwanted at Tottenham, and they are desperate to get rid of him.

They will be hoping to strike a deal for a knockdown price. Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur should look to bring in a quality striker, a central midfielder and another central defender at the end of the season.
