Manchester United ready to pay the release clause for Gleison Bremer

Manchester United are ready to trigger the €60 million release clause to sign Juventus defensive sensation Gleison Bremer.

According to a report by La Repubblica, Manchester United are looking to reinforce their defence ahead of the next season. They are looking to bring in a world-class centre-back and have their eyes set on Juventus star Gleison Bremer.

Bremer’s rise at Juventus

Bremer made a name for himself during his four-year stint at Torino before joining Italian giants Juventus in the summer of 2022. He has gone from strength to strength since making the move.

The 27-year-old has established himself as a mainstay in their first team and his performances have helped him earn his place in the Brazil national team. He has been the most used player under Massimiliano Allegri this season.

The new deal that he penned down towards the end of 2023 runs until the summer of 2028. While there are still over four years left on his contract, there is a €60 million release clause that could lead to his departure.

The Old Lady are desperate to have him in their ranks for years to come but they do not have the best of financial situations and a potential departure would only help them balance their books.

There is a lot of interest in the Brazil international’s services. Multiple clubs from England are keeping a close eye on him and they can surely afford to pay the premium to sign him.

Manchester United keen on Gleison Bremer’s signatures

Manchester United are one of the clubs that are quite interested in the 27-year-old. Multiple injuries to key defenders have troubled the Red Devils throughout the ongoing season. As a result, they are planning to reinforce the backline and signing a new world-class centre-back is a priority for Erik ten Hag’s team.

With Harry Maguire, Raphaël Varane and Jonny Evans’s future at Old Trafford uncertain, the Manchester-based club desperately need to sign a new centre-back. They want to bring in someone who can be a constant feature in the backline and help them in their rebuild under the new part owners.

People at the club feel Bremer could be an ideal fit for them, as a result, they are ready to trigger his release. With other clubs also eyeing his services, it will be interesting to see if the Red Devils can get it over the line by convincing the player to join them.
