Liverpool ran rule over Jamal Musiala, Florian Wirtz, Piero Hincapie last weekend

Liverpool reportedly scouted Jamal Musiala, Florian Wirtz and Piero Hincapie in the Bundesliga game between Bayer Leverkusen and Bayern Munich at the weekend.

According to a report from HITC, Liverpool scouts were in attendance when Bayer Leverkusen picked up an impressive 3-0 win over Bayern Munich on Saturday. Jamal Musiala, Florian Wirtz, and Piero Hincapie were on the pitch, and Liverpool officials were monitoring their performances ahead of a potential move.

Musiala has established himself as a key player for Bayern Munich, and he could be a quality, albeit expensive acquisition for Liverpool in the long run. Mohamed Salah has been linked with a move away from the club, and the 20-year-old German international could be a top replacement. He has seven goals and three assists to his name across all competitions and can operate as a central attacking midfielder as well as a left winger.

Meanwhile, Liverpool could use more creativity from the central areas as well, and Florian Wirtz would be an exciting addition. The 20-year-old has established himself as one of the best midfielders in German football, and he has contributed to eight goals and 15 assists across all competitions this season. He is capable of operating in the wide areas as well.

Both players could improve Liverpool going forward and collectively, they could replace the creative and goal scoring output of the Egyptian international. But Wirtz will cost a bomb, with Bayer Leverkusen slapping a £110 million price tag on him.

Liverpool need to improve their defensive options as well, especially with Joel Matip struggling with injuries. Piero Hincapie has been on their radar for a while, and the 21-year-old defender should prove to be a quality addition. He is capable of operating in a back three as well as a back four. He will add tactical versatility to the side. In addition, he can slot in as a left-back as well as central defender.

Liverpool must improve their team as a whole

The three players are unlikely to be cheap acquisitions for the Reds, and it will be interesting to see if Liverpool are prepared to break the bank for them. Wirtz, for example, is valued at £110 million.

Replacing Salah will be a massive challenge for them if the Egyptian international leaves. They should look to improve multiple areas of the squad in order to fill the void. Signing players like Musiala, Wirtz, and Hincapie would improve Liverpool as a team.

All three players are prodigious talents with bright futures ahead of themselves, and the opportunity to play for a big club will be quite tempting. Liverpool could groom them into world class players in the coming seasons.
