Tottenham interested in Viktor Djukanovic

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in acquiring the services of 20-year-old Montenegro international Viktor Djukanovic.

According to a report by Fotboll Direkt, Tottenham Hotspur have their eyes set on another young sensation from the Swedish top flight after completing the signing of Lucas Bergvall. Spurs are now looking to push for the services of Viktor Djukanovic.

Djukanovic’s Impressive Rise at Hammarby Draws Attention

Djukanovic has gone from strength to strength since joining Swedish club Hammarby in the winter of 2023. The 20-year-old left-winger has featured in a total of 33 matches for them and has contributed with 13 goals. His impressive performances have not gone unnoticed.

While he does have a contract with the Swedish club that runs until the end of 2027, there is a huge possibility of him leaving Hammarby in the summer of 2024. Multiple clubs were after his signature during the recently-concluded winter transfer window.

Italian clubs were particularly keen on having him in their ranks, and they did submit offers. But those were below what the Swedish club is looking for. Meanwhile, there is interest in his services from Tottenham Hotspur.

Tottenham’s Pursuit of Djukanovic Intensifies

Spurs recently managed to beat Barcelona in the race for the signatures of Lucas Bergvall. And, they are now looking to land the 20-year-old winger at the club. The North Londoners lack depth up top in attack, and Ange Postecoglou is keen on reinforcement.

While signing a new number nine will be one of their priorities, they are also looking to bolster the wide areas, and Djukanovic is someone who can help their cause. He can even feature as a striker if needed.

People from the Swedish club have already confirmed that there is great interest in his services, suggesting that a move in the summer is the likeliest outcome. Spurs have already started preparing themselves for a race to his signatures.

The London club’s technical director Johan Lange has been keeping a close eye on the 20-year-old since last summer. He is quite confident that the winger has what it takes to play for them in the English top flight.

Finances Involved in a potential Djukanovic deal

Hammarby are all set to negotiate his departure. While they might have turned down multiple offers during the winter, the report suggests they are looking for a fee of over SEK 150 million (€13.2 million approx). There were offers ranging from SEK 100 million to 135 million. But, the Swedish outfit are looking for something in between SEK 150-200 million.
