Manchester United will not entertain offers for young midfield prospect Dan Gore amid Borussia Dortmund’s interest.
Football Insider reckons Manchester United will block any attempts from clubs trying to sign Dan Gore in January. Borussia Dortmund hold a significant interest in the 19-year-old midfielder and were ready to test the Red Devils with a big offer.
Manchester United will keep Dan Gore
There is plenty of talk about Manchester United’s plans for the January window. The primary headline has been around FFP concerns and the club’s ability to bring big-money signings. Some suggestions even point towards selling a few players that could fetch them a decent fee to help fund other singings.
Manchester United chiefs are of the opinion that a sale of Dan Gore will not help with their FFP problems, and they would like to keep the 19-year-old midfielder. Dan Gore recently made his Premier League debut as a substitute against Aston Villa, replacing Christian Eriksen.
The club coaches are impressed by the 19-year-old midfielder’s application in training and believe he can forge an extensive career at Old Trafford. Borussia Dortmund held an interest in Dan Gore and were willing to pay big in January.
However, with Manchester United making their decision on the midfielder, the chances of the Bundesliga giants coming in with an offer are slim. Dortmund may return in the summer to test where the Red Devils stand with their stance on Dan Gore.
Manchester United eager to build a young midfield core
Dan Gore is an obvious talent rated by coaches at Carrington. There’s also Kobbie Mainoo, who has been a regular in recent weeks for Erik ten Hag. The youngster has produced some memorable displays for the club, especially in that goalless draw at Anfield against Liverpool.
Manchester United are already planning on rewarding Mainoo, and together with Dan Gore, they might plan for a young midfield core in the future. Both those players have a big future at Old Trafford, as Ten Hag could give the 19-year-old midfielder more chances before the season ends.
Manchester United have already lost top academy prospect Harrison Parker to Manchester City and will not want to lose more talents from their backyard. Hence, the decision to keep Dan Gore would make perfect sense, as many will now hope the 19-year-old midfielder shines and becomes a star at Old Trafford.
