West Ham United keen on sealing January deal for Serhou Guirassy

West Ham United are hoping to seal a January move for in-demand Bundesliga goal machine Serhou Guirassy to shore up their attack.

According to TEAMtalk, West Ham United are aiming to seal a deal for Serhou Guirassy in January. David Moyes wants a new No.9 to shore up his attacking options, with the in-demand Bundesliga goal machine available in the next month for a modest fee owing to a small release clause.

VfB Stuttgart are flying in the Bundesliga and will have Serhou Guirassy to thank for his contribution. The 27-year-old Guinean striker has scored 16 goals in 12 games in the German league and remains only behind Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane in the scoring charts.

After a decent loan spell last season, Stuttgart took up the option to sign him permanently for £7.5 million. The club are sitting third on the Bundesliga table with 31 points, only one behind Bayern Munich and four adrift of leaders Bayer Leverkusen.

Stuttgart might have underestimated Guirassy’s value and did not envisage him turning into an in-demand goal machine. The 27-year-old has a modest £15 million release clause in his contract, which has appealed to Premier League sides ahead of January.

Stuttgart’s blunder could see their objectives fizzle out after a promising start to the campaign as Guirassy remains open to a Premier League move. There are so many clubs keeping close tabs on his development and could look to trigger that modest release clause next month.

Manchester United are keen to explore a move but face competition from rivals within England and outside of it, with clubs like AC Milan also interested. The Hammers are in the market for a new No.9 as they feel Guirassy could thrive in the Premier League.

West Ham are interested in Guirassy, as David Moyes remains intent on shoring up his attacking options. Michail Antonio is well into his thirties, while Jarrod Bowen is more suited on the right wing. Hence, someone like the 27-year-old, with his experience and form, could elevate the Hammers in all competitions.

The East Londoners are hoping to tie up a move for the in-demand striker as soon as possible, which probably indicates their willingness to pay the £15 million release clause. For now, they will aim to lock Guirassy soon but remain wary of rival interest, particularly one coming from Manchester United ahead of next month.
