Al-Hilal eyeing Mohamed Salah swoop

Mohamed Salah has been linked with a move away from Liverpool in recent months, with Al-Hilal keen on signing him.

Mohamed Salah was a target for Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad during the summer transfer window. But Liverpool managed to hold on to him. A report from Give Me Sport has claimed that Al-Hilal could look to make a move for the 31-year-old in the summer.

The Egyptian international is one of the best players in the world. So, it is no surprise that the Saudi Arabian clubs are looking to sign him. They are hoping to boost the profile of the Saudi Pro League, and Salah would be a sensational acquisition for them.

The 31-year-old has been operating at a world-class level for Liverpool since joining them from AS Roma in 2017. He has helped them win multiple major trophies during his time in the Premier League, a move to Saudi Arabia might now be on the cards.

There is no doubt that he is good enough to operate at the highest level in the upcoming seasons as well. A player of his quality should look to stay in Europe for now and chase major trophies. So, he has unsurprisingly told Liverpool he wants a new contract at Anfield.

The player has a contract with Liverpool until the summer of 2025, and it remains to be seen whether the Premier League giants decide to cash in on him. If he does not renew his contract with Liverpool, they will be under pressure to sell him this summer as opposed to losing him on a free transfer in 2025.

Al-Hilal will certainly fancy their chances of securing Salah’s signature despite his desire to sign a new deal. Liverpool are likely to demand a premium for him, and the Saudi Arabian clubs have the financial muscle to get the deal done.
