Fabrizio Romano plays down rumours of January exit for Casemiro

Fabrizio Romano has delivered his verdict on rumours linking Casemiro with a move away from Manchester United in the winter.

According to Fabrizio Romano via CaughtOffside, Casemiro is unlikely to part ways with Manchester United in the upcoming transfer window. Reports have linked him with a move away from the club but the transfer expert has played down the rumours of his potential exit.

After winning every major trophy at Real Madrid, Casemiro decided to join Manchester United in the summer of 2022. The Red Devils paid a fee of £70 million for his services. He had an exceptional first season at the club and the 31-year-old became an integral part of Erik ten Hag’s plans.

But, he hasn’t been able to live up to the expectations in the ongoing season. The former Madrid midfielder has struggled and his poor form has had a big effect on the team’s results. On the back of his recent performances, he has been linked with a move away from the club.

Meanwhile, there is interest in the Brazil international’s services from the Saudi Pro League. Clubs from the Middle East have already signed quite a few world-class players. And, they want to continue in a similar fashion during the winter window. Casemiro is one of their targets but according to Romano, nothing concrete has happened yet.

The transfer expert said: “There’s been a lot written about Casemiro’s Manchester United future recently, with talk of interest from Saudi clubs. As I previously reported, there’s nothing concrete happening yet, but we’ll see what Saudi plans are,

“Still, I also wanted to address the claims that Casemiro has struggled to settle in England – as far as I understand, this is not accurate. He has no issues, and no problems living in England, so I don’t see this as a key factor in determining his future.

“Casemiro’s future will be discussed for sure in the next months, but for now anything else is just speculation.”

Romano even talked about rumours that suggested the 31-year-old hasn’t been able to adjust to life in England. According to him, the Brazil international has no issues in living in England and it has nothing to do with his future.

While the former Real Madrid star is quite settled at the Manchester-based club, his future will be discussed in the upcoming months. But, nothing concrete has happened yet in terms of a potential transfer elsewhere. He still remains an important of Erik ten Hag’s team and is expected to continue at Old Trafford unless both parties decide to part ways.
