Real Madrid prepare bid to sign Trent Alexander-Arnold

Real Madrid are reportedly interested in signing 25-year-old Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold in an €80 million deal.

A report from Fichajes has claimed that Real Madrid are interested in signing 25-year-old Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold. The Merengues could look to spend €80 million to secure his services.

Trent Alexander-Arnold has established himself as one of the best full-backs in the world, and he could prove to be a sensational acquisition for Real Madrid. The England international is an exceptional passer, and he will add a new dimension to the Real Madrid attack going forward. He could be the ideal long-term replacement for veteran Dani Carvajal.

Real Madrid will have to replace the Spanish international properly, and signing the Liverpool mainstay would certainly make a lot of sense. However, he is a key player for the Merseyside club and is expected to lead the side in the coming years. Meanwhile, Reece James is also a target for Real Madrid.

It will be interesting to see if Liverpool are prepared to sell him in the near future. In addition, €80 million seems quite cheap for a player of his calibre in today’s market. Even if Liverpool were to sell the player, they would demand a lot more than that for him.

Trent Alexander-Arnold is one of the best players in the Premier League right now, and he is an indispensable asset for Liverpool. They will not want to sanction his departure any time soon. Liverpool will hope to win major trophies in the coming seasons, and they need the 24-year-old defender to compete at the highest level.

Although Real Madrid are the biggest club in the world and the opportunity to play for them can be hard to turn down for any player, the Liverpool vice-captain might prefer to stay at his boyhood club for now. There is no doubt that the 25-year-old is good enough to play for the best clubs in the world, and he would improve Real Madrid if he joined them.

It will be interesting to see if Real Madrid decide to test Liverpool’s resolve with an offer in the coming months. A move in January is highly unlikely, and the Spanish giants will probably look to try their luck during the summer transfer window.
