Aston Villa have agreed a deal with Walsall director Daniel Mole over a move, as the experienced executive takes up a role.
According to Football Insider, Aston Villa are set to complete an agreement to appoint Daniel Mole as their assistant club secretary. The role is seen as an important one at the Midlands side as they continue to shake up their backroom staff.
Aston Villa are on the right path in their journey towards a bright future. The Midlands clubs have had a no-nonsense approach in the market, whether that is for hiring the right manager or appointing the most qualified director to take their project ahead.
They have also lost some key personnel, as Tottenham signed Rob Mackenzie, who was Villa’s chief scout. They may not have wanted it but chose to move ahead and make their shake-ups in the backroom.
Aston Villa made the intelligent decision to reach an agreement with Monchi to become their new director. He has done wonders at the club since his arrival and could have a hand in further shaping up the backroom staff, including appointing a new assistant secretary at the club.

For that role, Aston Villa had set sights on highly experienced Walsall director Daniel Mole and has now reached an agreement with the executive. He will join the Midlands side after he finishes his notice period with his current employers.
Villa have hired Mole based on his extensive administrative expertise spanning over 21 years at the club. On paper, it may seem like he is stepping down from being a director to an assistant secretary role, something he has already worked in during his time at Walsall. However, joining the Midlands club will mean more significant things.
Villa could make further such appointments in the future, as the club’s owners would like to shake up the backroom staff and make it a more cohesive unit that would help the club top down. The likes of Monchi have done a brilliant job, and Aston Villa would hope Daniel Mole will make a telling contribution to his role.
