Saudi Pro League clubs are interested in acquiring the services of 29-year-old Manchester United skipper Bruno Fernandes.
According to Rudy Galetti via Fichajes, Saudi Arabian clubs are keen on having Bruno Fernandes in their ranks. The 29-year-old Portuguese is amongst the best attacking midfielders in the world and the Public Investment Fund is looking to add him to their star-studded Saudi Pro League.
The Saudi Pro League has been the talk of the town for a while now. Everything started last winter when they shocked the world by signing Cristiano Ronaldo. The former Real Madrid star joined Al Nassr after parting ways with Manchester United.
Post that, PIF acquired a majority stake in four SPL clubs; Al Nassr, Al Hilal, Al Ittihad and Al Ahli. During the summer transfer window, SPL clubs went all out to bring some of the biggest stars to the Middle East. They signed Karim Benzema, Sadio Mane and Neymar amongst other top stars.
And, now they have started planning for the next season. The representatives of the PIF want to bring Bruno Fernandes to the Middle East. They have made him a priority target and are looking to acquire his services next summer.
The 29-year-old made a name for himself while playing for Sporting CP. After a few impressive seasons, Manchester United came calling. The Red Devils signed him in the winter of 2020 in what was a big money move.
Fernandes had a great start to life in England. He went from strength to strength since joining them and is one of their most important players at this stage. The 29-year-old was appointed as the skipper of the club ahead of the ongoing season.
While he seems happy at the club and has a contract with them until the summer of 2026, he could be on his way to the Middle East next summer. The PIF are planning to land him at one of their clubs and they do have the financial strength to pull off any sort of transfer.
