Harry Kane doesn’t regret leaving Tottenham Hotspur

Harry Kane insists he will ‘never regret’ joining Bayern Munich from Tottenham as he also praised Ange Postecoglou’s work.

One of the cliched questions in football is asking a player if he regrets leaving a club. In Harry Kane’s case, those questions have been persistent since he left Tottenham to join Bayern Munich. Contrastingly enough, the England captain had faced reporters for many years asking when he would leave Spurs.

From the 30-year-old’s point of view, it must have become tiring at this point to keep answering the same sort of questions revolving around transfers. Yet, Kane seems very happy about making his switch to Bayern Munich as he insists he will ‘never regret’ the decision to leave Tottenham during the summer.

Incidentally, Bayern weren’t the only club keen, with Manchester United and Real Madrid also held an interest in Kane. The 30-year-old also came into the news as Daniel Levy recently confirmed Tottenham have a buy-back clause in his contract. Yet, as things stand, the England skipper has no regrets about leaving Spurs, nor is he thinking about anything other than the Bavarians.

His comments appeared on the Evening Standard as Kane spoke to the British media during the current international break. The 30-year-old suggested he was rather proud to have made the decision, although he did reveal feeling strange watching Spurs without him in the team earlier in the season.

Kane said, “I was there for so long, and all my friends are still there, even the coaches and staff, so sometimes it’s a little bit strange. “But in football and life, when you go onto a new adventure, you’re focused, and attention is on that.”

“I’m trying to find houses, learn the language, get to know my new team and staff at Bayern Munich. Your attention just gets taken away. Maybe at first, it was strange to see them playing and me not being there. I have got to put all my attention on Bayern Munich and to make us as successful as possible.”

“I am here, I am excited and it will always be a decision I never regret. I’m proud to have started the way I have.”

Kane has had a splendid start to life at Bayern Munich, scoring nine goals in his ten games so far. The striker also explained the difference between the two clubs during the previous international break. The England captain aims to bring the club back to European supremacy.

Kane did speak about Tottenham after their stellar start to the campaign and life under Ange Postecoglou. The Australian manager has steered the north Londoners to the top of the Premier League table and level on points with local rivals Arsenal. Kane insisted Postecoglou is what Tottenham needed to take their next step.
He continued, “Spurs are doing pretty well. It’s great to see. “The manager is doing great for them with the way they’re playing, the fans are right behind the team, and it’s definitely what they needed after the last few years.”
Kane is back to his old training ground at Spurs as he prepares for England’s game against Australia. While it’s only a friendly, the 30-year-old will hope to feature and stay sharp ahead of some crucial games for Bayern after the current break.
