Richarlison determined to succeed at Tottenham amid Saudi Arabian links

Tottenham Hotspur striker Richarlison has been criticised heavily for his performances this season but is determined to succeed at the club.

Richarlison was expected to replace Harry Kane after the England international’s departure. But he has not been able to score goals on a regular basis. However, journalist Paul Brown revealed on Give Me Sport that the 26-year-old is unlikely to leave Tottenham anytime soon and will look to make a success of his time at the club and fight to get back to his best.

“I don’t really see him leaving Tottenham anytime soon. I think it would have to be a really interesting offer for him to a club that he really wants to play for and where he knows he’s going to be number one. That’s obviously not going to happen until January at the earliest now.”

“I do think personally he wants to make a success of it at Spurs and I don’t really hear any particular criticism of him from the manager there. The manager seems pretty okay with him.”

“He knows that strikers need goals and it’s clear that Richarlison had been struggling for confidence a little bit in front of goal but I don’t think it’s a huge problem. I think it’s a situation that can rectify itself with patience. And if Richarlison stays determined, I think he’ll be okay there. I don’t see him leaving Spurs or them trying to get rid of him anytime soon.”

The Brazilian international has previously shown his quality in the Premier League with clubs like Everton and Watford. There is no doubt that he has the technical attributes to develop into a top-class player for Tottenham. But he needs to regain his confidence and sharpness.

The player has recently revealed that he has been going through a tough time off the pitch. But he has managed to get over his personal issues now. He will look to concentrate on his football, and it remains to be seen whether he can get back to his best soon.

The £90,000-a-week striker produced a match-winning performance against Sheffield United last time out, scoring a late equaliser before setting up the winner. The performance against Sheffield United will have given him immense confidence, and he will look to extend that run of form in the coming weeks.

If Richarlison can add more goals to his game, he could be an asset for Tottenham going forward. His overall footballing ability has always been outstanding and his ability to slot into multiple attacking roles makes him an asset for the North London club.

Paul Brown believes that Tottenham are not looking to get rid of the player either and they are prepared to persist with him and help him get back to his best. Spurs paid big money to sign the player from Everton and they will hope to get a return on their investment now. The player has been linked with Saudi Arabian clubs recently. But a move is unlikely to be on the cards anytime soon.
