Manchester United interested in Finley Gorman

Manchester United are pursuing a move for Leeds United’s 14-year-old wonderkid Finley Gorman and bring the exciting youngster to the club.

According to the Daily Mail, Manchester United are keen to sign Leeds United’s 14-year-old wonderkid Finley Gorman. The schoolboy has developed into a mature footballer for his age and has already featured for the Whites’ Under-18 Premier League side at the Yorkshire club.

Erik ten Hag seems intent on building a competitive Manchester United team down to the youth sides. The Dutch manager had a more modest window during the summer and brought some important players to his first-team squad.

The club signed a new midfielder and bolstered their attack with the arrivals of Mason Mount and Danish striker Rasmus Hojlund. They added Sergio Reguilon late in the window and handed veteran Jonny Evans a short-term deal to shore up their backline.

With the transfer window now shut, Manchester United may have a small period to look at some of the youth signings they wish to make. Croatian talent Dino Klapija remains a big target for the Red Devils. But they face big competition from Bundesliga giants RB Leipzig.

More clubs are looking at rising stars at a very young age group. Aston Villa are close to signing Freddie Lawrie from Port Vale and are willing to pay a record-breaking six-figure fee. Manchester United may not go to that length for Garmon. But they are keen to snap up the 14-year-old wonderkid.

Gorman recently featured for Leeds United’s Under-18 Premier League side during their victory over the Stoke City Under-18 side. Playing in that team is a significant step up for his current age, and the maturity of his performances is what attracts widespread interest. Manchester United will look to open talks with Leeds United to find a solution. The Yorkshire side will intend to keep hold of Garmin for the foreseeable future.
