Arsenal contemplating January move for Dusan Vlahovic

Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing the Serbian international striker Dusan Vlahovic from Juventus.

A report from Tutto Mercato Web claims that Arsenal could look to make a January move for the €80 million-rated striker and it remains to be seen whether they can get the deal done.

The 23-year-old has struggled to live up to the expectations since his big-money move to the Italian club and leaving Juventus could be ideal for him. The Serbian international needs a fresh start at this stage of his career and the opportunity to play for Arsenal could be an attractive option for him.

The Gunners could certainly use more quality and depth in the attacking unit and Vlahovic would be a quality acquisition.

The Serbian international was regarded as one of the best young attackers around Europe during his time at Fiorentina and a fresh start in the Premier League could help him regain his form and confidence. He was linked with Chelsea during the summer transfer window as well.

Arsenal currently have Gabriel Jesus as the only reliable striker at the club. It remains to be seen whether they are ready to shell out a premium for Vlahovic.

The Serbian is unlikely to come cheap and Juventus will look to recoup most of what they paid for him.

The Gunners managed to challenge for the league title last season and they will be hoping to go all the way this time around.

Signing quality players like Vlahovic could make a big difference for them in the second half of the campaign.

The 23-year-old could help them launch a proper title challenge during the business end of the season and his arrival would give Mikel Arteta more options to work with.

Arsenal need a deeper squad in order to truly challenge the European elite this season.

Vlahovic scored 14 goals across all competitions last season and his numbers are likely to improve when he is playing in an attacking setup. Juventus have struggled over the past year and Vlahovic has had very little service to feed on. He is likely to get more goalscoring opportunities at a club like Arsenal who prefer to play free-flowing attacking football.
