Rasmus Hojlund confirmed other clubs were reportedly interested in signing him during the summer, but he preferred to join Manchester United.
Manchester United had to sign a new striker during the summer window, and many names got mentioned as targets. The Red Devils had pondered moves for Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen. The financial conditions around those targets were out of their reach.
Others like now PSG pair Randal Kolo Muani and Goncalo Ramos also emerged on their list. Again, the financial implications of those moves made it difficult for Manchester United. Finally, they established interest in Rasmus Hojlund and ensured they signed the striker.
Hojlund arrived in a potential €75 million deal, including add-ons, and thus gave Erik ten Hag a new option to start up front. The Danish striker has taken his time to regain fitness from a back injury and finally made his debut on Sunday in the loss against Arsenal.

As far as other information goes, PSG were one of the clubs keen on Hojlund and even pushed hard to get a deal done with Atalanta. The Parisians eventually signed Ramos and then agreed on a deal with Eintracht Frankfurt on deadline day for Kolo Muani.
Manchester United needed a focal point since the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo before last year’s World Cup. They experimented with the loan signing of Wout Weghorst, but that proved a massive failure. In their opening three games, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial took turns to start up front. From here on, Hojlund seems like their preferred option.
The Danish star impressed during his brief cameo against Arsenal. He played a crucial part in the build-up to the Alejandro Garnacho disallowed goal. He also had a claim for a penalty and even saw a shot blocked from close range.
