Tottenham Hotspur star Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has rejected the opportunity to join Fulham tonight.
According to Jason Burt of The Telegraph via Twitter, Tottenham Hotspur ace Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has opted against joining London rivals Fulham amid uncertainty surrounding his future at N17.
The Danish star was heavily linked with a summer exit but is still at Tottenham as we head into the final few hours of the summer transfer window. He currently has an offer from Premier League rivals Fulham on the table but has so far shown little inclination to accept it.
The deal, however, is not dead as negotiations continue. Time will tell whether both clubs can reach an agreement and also change the midfielder’s mind. The sooner the better as it is literally now a race against time to get the deal over the line.
The Cottagers are keen to bring in a midfield enforcer as Palhinha continues to edge closer to joining Bayern Munich. The 28-year-old is a key cog in Marco Silva’s system and losing him without bringing in an able replacement would be risky business.

Ange Postecoglou’s new system works fine even without Hojbjerg in the mix, and losing him can be something Tottenham can live with. At 28, the Danish international is at the peak of his powers and is well experienced in the English top flight.
It should not take much for Fulham to integrate him into their roster. Silva’s free-flowing brand of football should suit Hojbjerg who is a mobile presence in the middle of the park. He could prove to be an excellent replacement for Palhinha while also proving to be an upgrade on the Portuguese ace as far as attacking contributions are considered.
However, the final word on the transfer leis with the player and he has so far failed to show any encouragement. Whether Fulham can change his mind in the coming hours remains to be seen.
