Fulham have reportedly reached out to Manchester United regarding Scott McTominay.
According to Sky Sports, Fulham have reached out to Manchester United regarding a deal for 26-year-old homegrown midfielder Scott McTominay on summer deadline day.
The Cottagers have already lost star striker Aleksandar Mitrovic this summer and could be in line to also part ways with Joao Palhinha. The dynamic defensive midfielder is amongst the best in the league in his position and is a man in demand.
Having agreed to sell Ryan Gravenberch to Liverpool, Bayern Munich are keen to bring in a new number 6 and have earmarked Palhinha as their star addition. With just hours to go before the summer window slams shut, Fulham have little time to replace the 28-year-old should he move on.
Manchester United star Scott McTominay is one of the names being looked at, and a move could be made today if things fall into place. The Red Devils ace is far from a first XI regular at Old Trafford and might be available for the right price.
West Ham United were keen on the Scottish international. But their £30 million bid was rejected. The Red Devils are also keen on Sofyan Amrabat and could do with money coming in. It remains to be seen if they will dismiss a similar bid from Fulham in the dying hours of the summer window.
The 26-year-old is well experienced in the Premier League and could slot into the Fulham midfield with minimal ease. A physical presence in the middle of the park, he could replace Palhinha and go on to become an important player in Marco Silva’s system.
A solid dribbler and tackler, McTominay is also in the prime of his career and could do with regular playtime. Fulham are a team on the rise and can provide him with the opportunity to resurrect his career.
In many ways, Gravenberch’s move to Liverpool could set off a domino effect that could see McTominay bid goodbye to Old Trafford. The Red Devils should be fine as long as they bring in Amrabat themselves.
