Benjamin Pavard pushing to join Manchester United

Bayern Munich full-back Benjamin Pavard is keen on making the move to Manchester United before the end of the transfer window.

According to Daily Mail, Benjamin Pavard is eager to join Manchester United before the end of the ongoing transfer window. The Bayern Munich full-back wants to try out a new challenge and is keen on making the move to the Red Devils in the ongoing transfer window.

Pavard’s future has been uncertain over the past few weeks, and Manchester United have been monitoring the situation very closely. Erik ten Hag’s team are looking to bolster their defence, and they would love to have the 27-year-old in their ranks.

The French international is amongst the best full-backs in the world. While he might not get the limelight, Pavard is a consistent performer who gets it right on majority of the occasions. He is capable enough to feature as a right-back as well as a centre-back and his versatility is a major reason why Ten Hag is desperate to have him at his disposal.

With Harry Maguire likely to leave the club, Pavard’s arrival will give them the needed depth in the heart of the defence and he could also bolster the right-back position.

While the World Cup winner will be a great addition to the Manchester United ranks, the German giants are keen on holding onto their star full-back. Thomas Tuchel considers him an important part of his plans and won’t give up on the French international with ease. Meanwhile, they have slapped a £26 million price tag on him.

But. the player is keen on joining the Red Devils, and he is looking for a new challenge elsewhere, with his preferred destination being the Premier League. With his contract running out in less than a year’s time, Bayern do not really have many options to work with.

While Bayern might have rejected Manchester United’s opening bid for the 27-year-old, they cannot really risk losing out on him for free next summer. As a result, they could end up selling him in the ongoing window. According to the reports, the German club value the World Cup winner at around £26 million, and a fee in that region should be enough for his services.
