Inter Milan could target a loan move for unwanted Tottenham defender Japhet Tanganga with the 24-year-old’s versatility a crucial factor.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Inter Milan could look at a potential loan deal for Japhet Tanganga in this window. Tottenham do not consider the 24-year-old part of their plans and could ponder over an offer if it arrives.
Inter Milan have lost sufficient defensive depth in this window, with many of their previous players leaving for pastures new. The club have only brought in 22-year-old Yann Aurel Bisseck as a reinforcement earlier, but they are keen to add more cover to the backline.
A few players have been linked, but Inter Milan have been focused on signing a new striker after discarding Romelu Lukaku as their preferred target. They are yet to find a way to convince Arsenal for Folarin Balogun while losing the race to sign Gianluca Scamacca to rivals Atalanta.
With limited time left in the window, Inter Milan are stepping up their chase to find solutions for their backline. The Serie A giants have earmarked a loan move for Japhet Tanganga from Tottenham and could make a decent offer in the coming period.

The 24-year-old can play centrally and on the right, which could bring sufficient value to Inter Milan. Tottenham are eager to find a solution to the defender’s future, as Ange Postecoglou has enough depth in the department.
They also want to sell Djed Spence to suitors, and Tanganga could leave. Some English sides were keen in January, but that no longer seems valid. Some Italian teams have shown interest, but none have come forward with an offer.
Inter Milan, if they are to make an offer, it will only be a loan move as they want to concentrate their limited funds towards a new striker. Yann Sommer arrived as a replacement for Andre Onana, and they have funds to bring a forward.
Hence a loan with a buy option is a decent solution for Tanganga in Inter Milan’s eyes. Whether Spurs are open to a temporary deal remains the question, but the north Londoners will look to include a clause with an obligatory fee attached.
