Tottenham make move to sign Gift Orban

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in acquiring the services of 21-year-old Nigerian youth international Gift Orban.

According to a report by Het Nieuwsblad, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in having Gift Orban in their ranks ahead of next season. The 21-year-old striker has been on fire of late, and he is on the radar of the London club as they search for a potential Harry Kane replacement. Spurs have now established contact to sign the young striker.

Tottenham are preparing for life without Kane, and they have prepared a list of targets to help them cope with his absences. While the London club’s priority is to keep their star striker at the club, it looks like they will struggle to do so this time around.

The 30-year-old’s contract runs out in less than a year. While Tottenham have offered him a new lucrative deal, he is not keen on putting pen to paper at this point in time. Kane wants to keep his options open and is ready to make a move in the ongoing window as well.

Bayer Munich are the club interested in his services. The German giants have been in talks with Tottenham for a while now. The London club have rejected multiple bids from the Bundesliga champions. Despite that, Bayern are confident of getting it over the line in the ongoing window. As a result, Spurs are seriously considering signing a new striker.

Ange Postecoglou is prepared to play Richarlison as a number nine if needed. But he prefers having a proper striker in his ranks. As a result, Spurs are looking to sign 21-year-old Gift Orban, who was on fire last season.

The Nigerian youth international joined KAA Gent from Stabæk in the winter of 2023, and he has been in exceptional form since joining them. The 21-year-old featured in a total of 22 matches for Gent last season and managed to score 20 goals and even had two assists to his name

He has carried his form into the 2023/24 season scoring two goals in the first two matches. His exceptional form has attracted the attention of Spurs, and they have already contacted the player’s entourage over a potential deal.

While he has a contract with Gent until the summer of 2027, the Belgian club are aware of the fact that they might not be able to keep him at the club amidst interest from Tottenham but are looking for a record bid to let him leave the club.
