Everton keen on Harry Maguire

Everton are interested in signing 30-year-old Manchester United centre-back Harry Maguire amidst interest from West Ham United.

According to a report by TEAMtalk, Everton are keen on having Harry Maguire in their ranks. The Merseyside club are keen on reinforcing their defence in the ongoing transfer window to ensure they do not end up fighting for survival next season.

Sean Dyche’s men somehow managed to survive the drop last time out. They finished 17th on the points table and were just two points above the drop zone. Dyche is keen on ensuring that they have a much better outing next season. As a result, he is looking for defensive reinforcement and has his eyes set on Maguire.

While the 30-year-old centre-back might not be of that great use to Manchester United, Dyche believes his experience and leadership along with his defensive abilities could help their cause. And, that is why he is willing to raise funds to push for his signatures.

The Everton boss is ready to offload two players to raise adequate funds to push for the services of the 30-year-old. He is willing to let go of Michael Keane and Mason Holgate. The duo could help him raise a considerable amount that will help Everton place a bid for the 30-year-old defender.

The Merseyside club are not the only club in the race for his signatures. Even West Ham United want to sign Maguire. The Hammers are looking to reinforce their squad and are interested in the 30-year-old. David Moyes is a big admirer of the England international and feels he could be a great option to have in his ranks.

West Ham recently had a £20 million bid for Maguire rejected by United. Despite that, they are still in contention for his signatures. And, according to reports, they are ready to place a second bid to land him at the club. With West Ham already making moves, it will be interesting to see if Everton can win this transfer tussle.

As far as Manchester United are concerned, they are ready to offload the 30-year-old. Maguire was recently stripped of captaincy by their manager Erik ten Hag and he is way down the pecking order at the club. As a result, a considerable offer will be enough to convince the Red Devils.
