Fulham have agreed on a £5.5 million deal to sign Mexican international Raul Jimenez from Wolves as he could bring depth to the central position.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Fulham have agreed a £5.5 million fee with Wolves for striker Raul Jimenez. The Mexican international is no longer wanted in Midlands and will move to London to continue his career in the Premier League.
It’s been a difficult few days for Fulham as plenty of uncertainty surrounding the club, mostly from Saudi Arabia. Their manager, Marco Silva, received a mammoth 40 million, two-year deal from Al-Ahli. Speculation suggested the Portuguese could accept it and leave the Cottagers.
However, in a sensational update, Silva has rejected the proposal and decided to continue with Fulham. The owners are ready to back him in this transfer window as he’s already close to securing two new centre-backs in Ajax’s Calvin Bassey and Southampton’s Mohammed Salisu.
He was also instrumental in convincing William to perform a U-Turn and re-sign for the club, although he still has the Aleksandar Mitrovic issue to deal with. The Serbian has received a lucrative proposal from Saudi and wants to leave, but Fulham’s huge asking price is potentially scuppering any deal.

Meanwhile, Silva had wanted to reinforce his strike force irrespective of Mitrovic’s future and has secured a new signing. Fulham have agreed on a £5.5 million deal plus bonuses with the Wolves for Raul Jimenez. The Mexican international has tremendous experience in the Premier League and will continue his career here.
His time at Wolves was ending, as he’s not been the same since suffering the ill-fated skull injury away at Arsenal a few years ago. Jimenez’s 15 appearances last season in the league produced no goals, as Julen Lopetegui remains keen to freshen up the front line.
Fulham will view the 100-cap Mexican international as an experienced presence on the side, although his chances of assuming a starting role are slim. The Cottagers are also looking for another striker, with Beto and Che Adams on their shortlist, especially if Mitrovic leaves.
Carlos Vinicius has not convinced Silva to trust the Brazilian, so they decided to sign the 32-year-old Jimenez. With the move, the Mexican can continue his career in the Premier League and possibly help the Cottagers finish in the top half again, better yet, in a European position.
