Real Madrid have officially announced the signing of 18-year-old Turkish international Arda Guler from Fenerbahce.
Real Madrid have been keen on acquiring the services of Arda Guler for a while now and they have finally managed to complete his signing. Los Blancos have officially announced the arrival of the teenage midfield sensation.
Guler has been a part of Fenerbahce since 2019. He has gone up the ranks at the club and established himself as a regular. The 18-year-old has gone from strength to strength over the past 12 months. And, his impressive performances had attracted the attention of quite a few big clubs from across Europe.
As far as the recently concluded season is concerned, the teenager featured in a total of 35 matches. He was on the pitch for just over 1500 minutes and managed to contribute towards 13 goals. Guler found the back of the net on six occasions and also had seven assists to his name.
His numbers pretty much sum up the kind of talent the 18-year-old possess. Los Blancos will pay a transfer fee of €20 million to Fenerbahce. The final fee is just a touch above his €17.5 million release clause. There is a €10 million performance-based bonus in the contract and a 20% sell-on clause.

Even Barcelona were interested in the teenager. The Catalan giants were pushing hard to acquire his services and they had sent their sporting director Deco to Istanbul to negotiate a transfer.
However, they have been comfortably beaten by Real Madrid. As per reports, Guler had a conversation with Luka Modric and Toni Kroos, his conversation with the Madrid duo was crucial for the transfer to take place.
Madrid have been scouting the teenager since the 2021-22 season and their chief scout Juni Calafat has played a key role in securing the teenage sensations services. Guler will pen down a six-year deal with Los Blancos and he will be presented to the club on Friday.
With Guler and Jude Bellingham added to the mix, Real Madrid have already prepared a solid base for life after Kroos and Modric.
