Newcastle United are all set to hold talks with the representatives of 25-year-old Inter Milan full-back Federico Dimarco.
According to NUFC Blog, Newcastle United are interested in acquiring the services of Federico Dimarco. The Magpies have been on the look for a new left-back of late and have identified the 25-year-old as a potential target. And Dan Ashworth is set to hold talks with Serie A giants for the Italian international.
Eddie Howe’s team have done wonders in the recently-concluded season. They have managed to finish inside the top four and qualify for next season’s UEFA Champions League. While things have gone according to plan, the Newcastle United boss is now focused on strengthening his squad in order to take the next step.
His focus is on strengthening the midfield as well as the defence. The Magpies are interested in acquiring the services of Sandro Tonali as they look to bolster their midfield. The AC Milan player is a priority target for them, and the Magpies’ Sporting Director Dan Ashworth has travelled to Italy to hold talks with Milan.
Ashworth also plans on holding talks with Inter Milan as they are interested in Federico Dimarco. Newcastle are looking for a new left-back, and Eddie Howe’s team have been pushing for the services of Arsenal’s Kieran Tierney. But, his injury concerns and the asking price of Arsenal suggest that Newcastle United might pull out of the race.
They have already started looking for alternatives, and the Inter Milan full-back is a player they would love to have in their ranks. Dimarco was in sensational form throughout the 2022/23 season. The Italian international was involved in 50 matches and he had 16 goal contributions.
The 25-year-old was integral to their dream run in the Champions League, where they managed to reach the final. Dimarco had five assists in the UCL while playing as a wing-back for Inter. His exceptional form has attracted a lot of attention, and Newcastle are ready to hold talks with the Italian giants as they look to land him at the club. The Italian international is a versatile player who will surely help Newcastle’s cause.
He is capable enough to play as a left-sided centre-back, a full-back as well as a wing-back. If needed the 25-year-old could also feature as a winger. Dimarco will surely strengthen the Magpies’ defence but it will be interesting to see if Ashworth manages to convince Inter over a potential deal.
