Liverpool, Newcastle United willing to pay €30 million for Sofyan Amrabat

Liverpool and Newcastle United are ready to pay the €30 million asking price put forward by Fiorentina for the services of Sofyan Amrabat.

According to Giacomo Iacobellis, Liverpool are Newcastle United are keen on acquiring the services of Sofyan Amrabat. The 26-year-old is likely to part ways with Fiorentina ahead of next season and there are quite a few clubs keen on acquiring his services.

Amrabat has been the talk of the town post his heroics at the FIFA World Cup 2022. The Fiorentina midfielder was exceptional throughout the tournament and was one of the main reasons behind Morocco’s dream run at the global event.

He helped Morocco become the first African team to reach the semi-finals of the World Cup. The 26-year-old has also put in consistent performances for his club in the Serie A and the UEFA Conference League.

Amrabat has featured in a total of 49 matches and has been on the pitch for over 3,400 minutes in the 2022-23 season. He has been the mainstay of his team. And, on the back of his impressive performances, a lot of clubs have been keen on acquiring his services.

The Moroccan international’s contract at Fiorentina runs out in the summer of 2024. While there is an option to extend it by another 12 months, the player is keen on moving to a bigger club. And, the Italian club is ready to let him leave if they receive a bid worth €30 million.

And, as per the report, Liverpool and Newcastle are ready to meet the asking price. The Merseyside club are looking to complete a midfield overhaul and acquiring the 26-year-old midfielder could surely help their cause.

He could provide cover for Fabinho and can even feature as a central midfielder alongside the Brazilian in a midfield three. Amrabat’s work rate is right up three and Jurgen Klopp would love to have him in his ranks.

Meanwhile, the Magpies have secured Champions League football for next season. And, they are looking to bolster their midfield to be competitive in both the league and the UCL. They have been monitoring the 26-year-old for a while and believe he could be a great addition to their ranks.

While both Newcastle and Liverpool are ready to meet the asking price, the player prefers joining Barcelona or Atlético Madrid. As a result, it will be interesting to see if either of the English club can convince him to join them ahead of next season.
