Tottenham Hotspur are keen on acquiring the services of 23-year-old Fulham winger Manor Solomon ahead of next season.
According to Dean Jones via GIVEMESPORT, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Manor Solomon. The 23-year-old is currently on loan at Fulham from Shakhtar Donetsk and Spurs are looking to add him to their ranks ahead of next season.
Solomon joined the Cottagers on loan ahead of the ongoing season from the Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk. The Israeli forward came in with a lot of promise but he has failed to live up to the expectations. The 23-year-old has struggled with injuries and has missed almost half of the matches due to injury.
He has been handed just four starts by Fulham throughout the Premier League season and has been involved in a total of 19 matches. Despite being involved in close to 20 matches, the 23-year-old has been on the pitch for less than 600 minutes and still has four goals in the English top flight.
Despite not getting the desired number of minutes, he still has had an impact. However, it is a small sample to decide on. Meanwhile, Spurs have their eyes on Solomon.
Tottenham might not be sure about who their next manager will be but they are still looking to make the best possible use of the upcoming transfer window. They are looking to add a new forward.
The London club signed Arnaut Danjuma on loan midway through the season. The loan deal has a buy option of £27 million. Spurs were looking to make the deal permanent on the basis of his performances.
However, the 26-year-old Villarreal forward hasn’t had the desired impact. And, he is all set to return to his parent club. As a result, Tottenham could look for a new forward to replace Danjuma and Solomon could be a great fit for the club.
Jones on Solomon to Tottenham: “What I say is he hasn’t been a regular, guaranteed starter at Fulham or anything, and there’s still work to be done in terms of making him that player.
“So, I think while Tottenham definitely do have an interest in him here, there are other factors that do need to be weighed into the equation.”
While he might not be the greatest acquisition they can make, he surely is an affordable signing that can help their cause. The 23-year-old will be available for free and Spurs could push for him without much trouble.
Despite having a contract with Shakhtar until the winter of 2023, the Israeli forward could be available for free as FIFA has allowed players to cancel their contracts with Ukrainian clubs if needed.
