Manchester United considering part-exchange deal to sign Declan Rice

Manchester United have been linked with a summer move for West Ham United captain Declan Rice, a target for Arsenal.

According to a report from Daily Mail, Manchester United are ready to offer a part-exchange deal to sign Declan Rice. The 24-year-old England international is a target for Premier League giants Arsenal as well.

The midfielder is reportedly valued at £100 million, and Manchester United are hoping to bring down the asking price by offering a player-plus-cash deal. The Red Devils need to sign a quality partner for Casemiro. And Rice has emerged as a viable target. Manchester United have also initiated talks with his father.

The 24-year-old has established himself as one of the most reliable performers in the Premier League, and he would be a tremendous upgrade on players like Scott McTominay and Fred. Manchester United will need players of his quality if they want to bridge the gap with Manchester City next season.

Rice wants to play for a club in the Champions League. And the opportunity to join a big club like Manchester United will be a tempting proposition. But it is unclear if West Ham will accept a player-plus-cash deal and reduce his £100 million asking price.

Meanwhile, Arsenal have been trying to sign the player for a while. But it will be interesting to see if the Gunners can fend off the competition from the Red Devils. Manchester United certainly have a number of fringe players they could offer to sweeten the deal for West Ham. So it remains to be seen how the situation unfolds.

Players like Fred, Scott McTominay and Harry Maguire have all been linked with moves away from Old Trafford this summer. And McTominay and Maguire, in particular, have been on West Ham’s wishlist this summer.

Rice will be hoping to join a club capable of winning major trophies, and both Manchester United and Arsenal have done well this season. While the Gunners managed to push Manchester City for the Premier League title, Manchester United won the League Cup and are in the final of the FA Cup as well.

The Red Devils certainly have more financial resources compared to the north London giants. So they will fancy their chances of getting the signing across the line. Rice is still only 24 and he will improve further in the coming seasons. He could develop into an indispensable asset for Manchester United in the coming years.
