Tottenham are considering making a move for Allan Saint-Maximin in the summer to bolster their attacking setup ahead of the new season.

According to Fichajes, Tottenham have joined the race for Allan Saint-Maximin. Newcastle United could sell the attacker, whose market value is €35 million, for a sizeable offer. His situation has alerted several Premier League sides ahead of the summer window.

Allan Saint-Maximin has always divided opinions about his talent and what he brings to the pitch. He has been a good player for Newcastle United since arriving at the club. Eddie Howe, however, could remain open to changing guard if a sizeable offer arrives.

While his talent was never questioned, there are doubts over his consistency in playing games throughout the season. Many niggling injuries have seen Saint-Maximin miss crucial games during his time here, with his market value dropping to €35 million. Hence Howe might seek changes to his attacking setup.

Howe could look to overhaul his wide attacking options as things stand. Miquel Almiron’s position has also come under threat ahead of the summer. Newcastle have already taken the first steps by signing Anthony Gordon in January.

While the former Everton man continues to struggle, Howe will see value in keeping him and letting him adapt to new surroundings. The Newcastle manager could involve Gordon more next season, thus opening the door for Saint-Maximin to leave the club.

Saint-Maximin has a €35 million market value. But the Newcastle star could command a higher fee in the window. The Magpies will hope so, considering the interest the 26-year-old continues to attract from within the Premier League.

Arsenal were reportedly linked with a move recently. And now, Tottenham have joined the chase for the Newcastle star. Spurs are searching for attacking reinforcements in the summer. Some changes could happen at the north London club up front. So they are actively looking at new options.

The big change would come from Harry Kane, who could depart the club after spending his whole career here. Funds will likely arrive with the sale of the England captain. Tottenham could reinvest a significant portion into new signings.

The left-hand side of the attack has proven problematic for Spurs all season. And Saint-Maximin seems like a reasonable name to fill in. They are looking at more options, with Raphinha also on their list of targets. While the Brazilian predominantly plays on the right, he can prove versatile with his positioning.

However, Saint-Maximin would bring something different to Tottenham’s attack. Whether he would come close to their budget remains the question. He would undoubtedly elevate the current quality of their front line. Spurs could expect competition, and losing out on Champions League football could hurt their chances.

For instance, if Arsenal are in the race for the Newcastle star, Tottenham might face defeat. For now, Spurs remain in the race, but things could get clearer around the end of the season.
