Loic Bade has had a rollercoaster of a season. The 23-year-old was initially loaned out to Premier League club Nottingham Forest by his parent club Rennes. He failed to make a single appearance for the English club and returned back to France.
Despite Bade’s failure to make a single appearance for Nottingham Forest, Sevilla decided to gamble on him and signed him on loan in the winter window. The 23-year-old has since gone from strength to strength and has surely repaid the faith Sevilla had shown in him.
Bade has featured in 16 matches in the second half of the season for the Spanish club. And, he has been involved in two goals. He recent scored against Manchester United in the UEFA Europa League quarter-final a few days back to help his team make it to the semi-finals.
The 23-year-old has been on the pitch for over 1,300 minutes and has put in some impressive performances of late. His performances have resulted in Tottenham’s interest in him. While Spurs are still looking for a new manager, they have already started planning for the summer transfer window.
The North London club are looking to sign a new defender ahead of next season. And, they are willing to bet on the Rennes defender despite his poor stint at Nottingham Forest. Spurs are preparing a £10 million bid for the 23-year-old.
Bade’s loan move ends in the summer. But, Sevilla do have the option to make his stay permanent. The Spanish club is expected to try and sign him on a permanent basis. However, if they do not opt for it, the Spurs are ready to acquire his services.
The London club are desperate for defensive reinforcement after another average season. They want to add depth to their defence and bring in a player who can challenge Cristian Romero and Eric Dier for a starting place. And, eventually, become a regular at the club. While Bade was a big failure at Nottingham Forest, he has surely revived himself at Sevilla and could be a great signing for Tottenham, if they do manage to land him.
