Arsenal are interested in the services of 19-year-old Matheus Franca and have sent scouts to watch the Brazilian prodigy.
According to Torcedores, Arsenal have been closely monitoring Matheus Franca. The Gunners have sent scouts to watch the 19-year-old in action as they look to sign him ahead of next season. The Brazilian prodigy has been doing wonders in the ongoing season, and there are quite a few clubs keen on having him in their ranks.
The Gunners do not want to fall behind in the race. And, they have already taken the first step by sending scouts to watch him in action on Wednesday (19th April). Arsenal’s Jonathan Vidallè will be present in a Copa Libertadores de América game where Flamengo take on Nublense.
Mikel Arteta’s team have increased their scouting work in South America of late, and Vidalle is the one responsible for monitoring players in Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Uruguay. The technical observer will be having a look at the 19-year-old and will pass on their verdict on whether the Gunners should go all out for his services or not.
Franca is considered to be of the best young prospects in Brazil at this point in time. And, he is going to be one of the most sought-after players in the upcoming window.
The 19-year-old has come into the limelight after being promoted to the first team of the Brazilian club. Franca made the jump to the first team in 2022 and has since featured in 43 matches for the team in red and black. He has also found the back of the net on eight occasions.
The teenage attacking midfielder was a part of the squad that won the Copa Libertadores da América and the Copa do Brasil. Franca’s contract at the club runs until the summer of 2027. However, he is expected to move to Europe in the summer given the amount of interest in his services.
There is a €185 million release clause in his contract which will allow Flamengo to be in the driver’s seat during the negotiations. Meanwhile, Arsenal are keen on having the teenager in their ranks. Their success of late has been based on a young team. And, they are looking to add further firepower by signing the Brazilian prodigy. However, signing Franca won’t be that easy a task given the number of clubs that are interested in the 19-year-old.
