Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keeping tabs on 20-year-old Swansea City defender, Nathan Wood.
Nathan Wood has established himself as a key player for Swansea City this season, and he has been hugely impressive in the Championship. According to Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal and Tottenham are monitoring the situation of the England under-21 international ahead of a potential summer move.
The defender has a contract with the Championship club until the summer of 2024. So Swansea could be under pressure to cash in on him if he refuses to sign an extension with them. Arsenal and Tottenham are hoping to take advantage of his contract situation and sign the player for a bargain.
Swansea will not want to lose the defender as a free agent next summer. So it remains to be seen whether they can convince him to commit his long-term future to the club. Born in 2002, the 20-year-old has been a regular starter for Swansea this season, and he has a bright future ahead of him.
It remains to be seen whether he’s prepared to join a Premier League club at this stage of his career. The youngster needs regular football in order to continue his development, and he cannot afford to sit on the bench at a big club.

Although Arsenal and Tottenham have an impressive track record of nurturing young players and helping them develop into established first-team players, a move to the top flight might not be ideal for the player right now.
Wood is a top-class talent and will have plenty of opportunities to join a Premier League club in the near future. He should look to focus on is development with regular football in the Championship now.
Swansea are hoping to tie the 2002-born England under-21 international down to a new contract. And it remains to be seen whether the two parties can come to an agreement soon.
