Eden Hazard has been all over the news today. The day started with reports published in Journal di Dimanche that Manchester United have made a 30 million Euros offer for the Lille starlet. Later in the day, Dailymail reported that Chelsea are closing in on a deal with Hazard, and further to it sources close to Lille believed that ai???the player has provisionally agreed terms with Chelseaai???. Further to this story, it was also reported that Real Madrid have renewed their interest in the player and this meant the London club had to act quickly to secure his signature.

THT Verdict : The reports that are floating around are sounding more than just rumours at the moment. Chelsea, after having an indifferent first half of the season, were always in search of creative/flair players. This deals now looks very likely to go through, with the transfer fee expected to be around the region of A?25million. When this is done and the dust settles around it, will surely prove to be one of the biggest signings this season. Chelsea, it seems, are on the verge of landing a player who might tilt the balance in the Premiership title race. This is on!

Liverpool linked with a move for unsettled Spurs striker Jermaine Defoe

Liverpool are thought to be planning a bid to bring in unsettled English Striker Jermaine Defoe. They are said to be tabling a A?10million offer to Spurs.

THT Verdict : Both the clubs, Liverpool and Tottenham, are in the market for a new striker. While Harry Redknapp is said to be keen on bringing in Loic Remy (also linked with Liverpool), Liverpool has also been linked with nearly every forward known to mankind in the past few days. Defoe is said to be unsettled at White Hart Lane, following the arrival of Adebayor and his lack of starts. This deal might well depend on whether Tottenham are able to land Remy, if the Frenchman arrives Defoe is nearly sure to leave the club. On other hand, Liverpool, following the suspension of Suarez, lack of goals from Kuyt and invisibility of Carroll, desperately need fire power up front. The other thing that an auger well for this deal is the fact Kenny Dalglish is the manager at Liverpool and Jermain Defoe is an Englishman. Enough said!

QPR looks to make an improved bid for Samba

QPR are said to make an improved bid of A?7.5m for the Blackburn Rovers giant Christoper Samba. It was earlier reported that QPR had already had two A?5m and A?6.5m rejected by Rovers.

THT Verdict : After Samba handed over a transfer request this Monday a host of clubs has been linked with a move for him, including Tottenham, Arsenal and QPR. Blackburn have come out and said that they wonai??i??t sell Samba but it increasingly looks like a losing battle for them. QPR, after the appointment of Mark Hughes as their coach, have been linked with a host of players themselves and are said to targeting to sign three players before the window closes. QPR are also said to be closing in on Chelseaai??i??s Alex and if that deal does go through, they might as well stop pursuing the Congolese defender. Tottenham is said to be waiting on the wings, though.

Four Premier league clubs chase Michel Vorm, including Manchester United and Chelsea

Swansea director John van Zweden has revealed thatAi??four English clubs have made enquiry about the Dutch International goal-keeper, which includes Manchester United, Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspurs and Chelsea.

THT Verdict : Swansea are quite cautious about these enquiries. They know very well, that if a big club comes calling then it would be hard for them to retain their star performer. Vorm has been one of the best shot-stopper this season the League. While Chelsea might be look at the Dutch International as a possible future replacement for Cech, Manchester United havenai??i??t quite replaced Edwin Van der Sar yet. Even though the reigning champions have made big investment in David De Gea, the Spaniard has been anything but consistent. It seems highly unlikely that Swansea would sell their prized asset mid-season, but in all likely hood this is going to be the last season we see Michel Vorm in these colours.

PSG looking to snatch Carlos Tevez right under the nose of Inter

The never-ending saga of Carlos Tevez seemed to have taken another turn as reports poured in this evening about PSG having agreed terms with the Argentinean striker.

THT Verdict : It has been widely reported that Manchester City have agreed to an offer of A?24million + A?6.5million (bonus) fee for Carlos Tevez with the French club. Until very recently, Inter Milan were thought to be the front-runners after AC Milan reported deal fell away, ironically after Pato was said to have rejected a move to PSG. City have however come out and rubbished the reports. A spokesman for the club has saidAi??that ai???Manchester City have not received a bid for Carlos Tevez from Paris Saint Germain.ai???. It now looks to be a battles between Inter and PSG for the signature of the want away forward. Inter will be unlikely to compete with PSG in regards with transfer fee, and these rumours seem strong enough to conclude that the Argentine might end up in Paris.
