Manchester United’s priority is to pen down a contract extension with 27-year-old English forward Marcus Rashford.
According to a report by Fichajes, Manchester United have prioritised the contract renewal of Marcus Rashford. The 27-year-old has been on fire in the ongoing season. And the Red Devils are keen on penning an extension with the English international.
Rashford has been at Manchester United since 2005. He has gone up the ranks at the club and currently is one of their most important players. The 27-year-old has gone from strength to strength during his time with the Red Devils. And, he has returned to his best after underperforming for quite a while.
The England international was promoted to the first team in the summer of 2016. Since then, he has made almost 350 appearances for the team in red and has 186 goal contributions to his name.
The 27-year-old was subject to a lot of criticism over the past few seasons because of his form. But, he has managed to get over it and is in the form of his life at the moment. Ever since his return from the FIFA World Cup 2022, the English forward has scored goals for fun.
He started the ongoing season with his contract valid until the summer of 2023. The club had the option to extend it by 12 months, and they decided to opt for it in December. His new contract ends in the summer of 2024, which means Rashford has over a year left at the club.
A lot of clubs are aware of the situation and have expressed their interest in the 27-year-old. Manchester United are well aware of the interest from across Europe. And just a few months after extending his contract by 12 months, they are willing to offer him a new contract to further extended his stay at Old Trafford.
Rashford has been a very important figure in Erik ten Hag’s system in the ongoing season. The England international has racked up 38 goal contributions in his 43 outings. Among those, he has found the back of the net 27 times. He has been in red-hot form and the United boss is desperate to pen an extension with his star forward.
