Liverpool and Manchester United are following the progress made by Anderlecht goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen with the view of a summer move.
According to Belgian outfit HLN, Bart Verbruggen could emerge as a Liverpool and Manchester United target. The 20-year-old Dutchman has impressed this season with Anderlecht, who want to keep him for another season before considering a sale.
Many top teams in the Premier League are looking at goalkeepers that fit their style. With the need for the shot-stopper to do more than their traditional purpose, a young, 20-year-old Dutchman, Bart Verbruggen, is creating ripples around the market with his performances.
Verbruggen plays for Anderlecht in the Jupiler Pro League and has earned rave reviews. The very recent one being in the Europa Conference League, as the Belgian side ousted Villarreal. The 20-year-old Dutchman had a big role to play in the game.
He already had interest from Burnley, managed by former Anderlecht boss Vincent Kompany. They reportedly saw a €5 million bid rejected by the Belgian side, with the Clarets returning in January. The decision to remain at his club may have paid dividends as he gets to play regularly, but the summer could be different.

Some of the biggest Premier League clubs could make their interest known when the season ends. Liverpool and Manchester United dare reportedly keen on the 20-year-old Dutchman, with their managers seeking competition for places with a young star like the Anderlecht star.
Anderlecht wants to keep Verbruggen at the club for another year, after which they could sell him. The report insists the 20-year-old Dutchman is valued at €10 million, which may sound reasonable for a keeper his age and talent.
Former Tottenham star Jan Vertonghen praised his character recently, and such things could play a big role for a young keeper before deciding on his future. While Liverpool and Manchester United may sound like great, exciting prospects, there’s barely any chance for the 20-year-old Dutchman to oust their current No.1 stars.
For instance, there is no chance Alisson Becker will get ousted by Verbruggen, and the same goes for David de Gea. He could get decent exposure at such clubs, but he may look at playing regularly at this stage than jumping ship over a big club.
Things will become clearer in the summer when Verbruggen can decide on his future. Liverpool and Manchester United could remain open to making a move, but there could be other clubs where the 20-year-old Dutchman could play regularly.
