Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing 26-year-old Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana in the summer.
According to TEAMtalk’s transfer insider Graeme Bailey, Tottenham Hotspur have their eyes set on Andre Onana. The London-based club could push for his signatures in the summer. With Inter Milan needing to raise around £50m-£55m in the summer to balance the book, they might be willing to sell the 26-year-old.
Graeme Bailey said:
“Onana joined Inter from Ajax last summer, but he could now be allowed to leave after just 12 months in Milan.
“Tottenham are very much one to keep an eye on. They liked him a lot before he moved to Milan.”
Inter Milan are in a financial crisis and they are willing to sell some of their stars in the summer to manage the situation. Inter’s sporting director has been on the move of late to meet with clubs and let them know that they are willing to sell some of their star players.
Andre Onana joined Inter Milan last summer after his contract expired at Ajax. He has been doing great between the sticks for the Italian club but their financial situation could result in his departure. It would be great business from the Milan-based club given that the 26-year-old arrived for free.
The former Ajax shot-stopper has managed to displace the imperious Samir Handanovic in goal. He has featured in 23 matches for Inter in the ongoing season. Onana has been in sensational form, the Cameroon international has registered 11 clean sheets so far.
Tottenham Hotspur were interested in the 26-year-old even before he joined Inter Milan. And, they are ready to push for his services again in the summer. With Inter willing to sell, they might finally manage to get their man.
Antonio Conte will enter the upcoming transfer market with the hopes of signing a few players. He wants to sign a centre-back, a goalkeeper, and an attacking midfielder ahead of next season. Spurs are looking to move on from Hugo Lloris who has been a part of the club for more than a decade.
The French goalkeeper has been a great servant for the club. But, his performances haven’t been that great of late. He has suffered in the ongoing season and is currently out injured. Lloris has the most errors leading to a goal in the Premier League which is a major cause of concern for the Spurs boss.
Conte wants to sign a replacement in the summer. And, Andre Onana is a part of his list of transfer targets. However, it will be interesting to see if they manage to land the Inter Milan star ahead of next season.
