Predicted Arsenal lineup against Manchester United: Trossard set for debut off the bench

Mikel Arteta will name an unchanged Arsenal lineup to face Manchester United, while Leandro Trossard could feature off the bench.

Arsenal will host Manchester United at the Emirates on Sunday, hoping to extend their advantage at the top of the table. The Gunners are five points ahead of Manchester City with a game in hand, and Arteta will remain eager to regain the eight-point advantage.

Arteta does not have fresh injury concerns to deal with ahead of the blockbuster clash. There is better news regarding new signing Leandro Trossard, who the club registered well on time. Hence, he will likely make his debut against Manchester United.

During his pre-match press conference, Arteta was asked about the newest arrival at the Emirates. The Gunners’ boss explained what Trossard brings to the table. He certainly adds some much-needed quality in depth to Arsenal’s attack.

Arteta said, “We are really happy to have him. He’s a player we have followed for a while now. The opportunity came – we had the necessity to have a player in the frontline who is versatile enough to play in different positions. He knows the league, he has enough experience here, and I think he can have an immediate impact on the team.”

The starting lineup will remain unchanged, as there is no reason for Arteta to chop and change at this crucial juncture. Aaron Ramsdale is firmly settled in goal, with a back four ahead of the stopper. Ben White will continue at right-back, while William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes remain the centre-backs. Oleksandr Zinchenko will play his hybrid role from left-back and hope to be effective.

Thomas Partey will play the holding midfield role and have Granit Xhaka alongside in the usual setup. Martin Odegaard takes the advanced position behind the striker. Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli shall continue to support central striker, Eddie Nketiah, from wide attacking areas. Meanwhile, Trossard should come off the bench to make his Arsenal debut.

Predicted Arsenal XI: Ramsdale; Ben White, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko; Partey, Xhaka; Saka, Odegaard, Martinelli; Nketiah
