Tottenham interested in Max Kilman

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly eyeing a summer move for 25-year-old Wolves defender Max Kilman.

As per reported Ben Jacobs, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in Wolves defender Max Kilman and could execute a move next summer. The North Londoners are expected to make some movements in the transfer window.

Spurs’ brilliant start to the season has gradually diminished over the last few months as Antonio Conte’s side have struggled for consistency. They had an overwhelming summer, but that hasn’t really reflected in their results.

The defence has been a concern as they have leaked 25 goals so far, the most within the top five teams in the Premier League. Except for Eric Dier and Cristian Romero, no other defenders seem to have the quality required to compete at that level.

Clement Lenglet will return to Barcelona following the end of his loan spell while Ben Davies is more comfortable as a left-back. The arrival of a natural defender is needed and Kilman could be the first name on the transfer list.

The 25-year-old hasn’t missed a single day in the Premier League and is ready to take the next big step in his career. Wolves are deeply embedded in the relegation battle; losing Kilman would severely dent their hopes.

But Ben Jacobs insisted Kilman could emerge as a possible option for the summer.

“The other name I would keep an eye on, again, for the summer rather than for now is Max Kilman at Wolves. Kilman has been firmly on Tottenham’s radar and it’s about that period in the market when you can move.

“There’s no point wasting time and energy when there is no ability to sell. Now, a new manager, Wolves are struggling, Kilman will be thinking about his aspirations, come the summer it wouldn’t surprise me, even if he gets on playing under Lopetegui, if Kilman decides he would like to make a move.”

“I think that’s what Spurs are looking at and waiting for. He is one of a few targets for a while, they feel he has composure on the ball, he has Premier League experience and he could be available for a relatively decent fee.”

If Wolves stay in the top flight, a bidding war could ensue for the defender next summer.
